The Chey Institute for Advanced Studies invites you to a fireside chat between Chuck Hagel, former U.S. Secretary of Defense, and John Hamre, President of CSIS, to discuss geopolitical issues in Northeast Asia, including the implications of Chinese President Xi Jinping's power consolidation following the 20th National Congress of CCP, implications of the Ukrainian War in the context of a possible Chinese invasion of Taiwan, and the North Korean nuclear crisis and U.S. extended deterrence. This discussion was held during the annual Trans-Pacific Dialogue last December in Washington DC.
