In 2018, the Chey Institute for Advanced Studies and Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) co-hosted the first Hanoi Forum to exchange experiences and ideas about sustainable development. The Forum invited experts and policymakers in the fields of climate change, resource management, poverty, economic development, and biodiversity. The Forum also invited members of the civil society, principal agents of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Key speakers included Helen CLARK (former Prime Minister of New Zealand), Stephen GROFF (Vice President of ADB), Youba SOKONA (Vice Chair of IPCC), Diana URGE-VORSATZ (Professor at Central European University), and Mai Trong NHUAN (Vice Chair of IPCC Vietnam).
