Forests provide not only home to wildlife but also valuable resources for humankind. Their economic and social value is gaining much attention as the repercussions of climate change sweep the world. Why is forest conservation important in the quest for carbon-neutrality? How is AI helping to monitor and manage forests more effectively? What can Korea contribute to efforts in ASEAN and around the globe to combat the climate crisis? The Chey Institute invited renowned scholars and experts on April 8, 2024, to explore answers to these questions. The participants included Son Yowhan (Professor, Korea University), Kim Rae Hyun (Senior Researcher, National Institute of Forest Science), Lee Sue Kyoung (Leader, Dabeeo), Kim Jeongin (Professor, Chung-Ang University), and Oh Joon Whan (Head of V-Lab, CSES).
